Epic Quattro Colli ride

Just a quick note to say congratulations to everyone who rode on Saturday in what turned out to be very arduous conditions.    I am happy to say that it seems that the Steam spirit prevailed (in whatever bunch you were in) and that we looked after our own and rode safely.

I would like to personally thank Ben and Daniele for riding most of the way keeping me company when they could have kept up with the bunch – they might not have survived the next descent though.

And special mention to those who soldiered on when they weren’t feeling the best and also to those who looked after them and made sure that they got home.   Another special mention to our coach who unfortunately had his 5 year record broken for him when he got taken out on the Jamberoo descent – he was the only one involved in that crash who kept on riding.

Nutter award goes to Leica for running off the bike for 35 mins – even Ben decided that was a bad idea halfway up Cambewarra.  And the solo award goes to George who didn’t manage to find the bunch having coffee in Kiama and so had to ride the whole way back on his own.  Maybe we should invest in two way radios !!

A big pat on the back for those who did the whole thing – Breeda, Daniele and Ben (and of course myself drafting Ben and Daniele the whole way back).
